OBISAN

For centuries, the village of Obisan thrived under the rule of the influential Obisan noble family. A mysterious tradition involving the 'Fog Passage' intrigued the region's inhabitants. The Obisan family, long demanding resources from the population to be taken through the passage, fueled rumors and theories among the residents.

Some believed that the Obisans traded with the distant Old Village, enriching the village. Others, however, suspected more sinister purposes, suggesting that the practice was part of a ritual to protect Obisan from attacks by mountain creatures, preventing the village from being swallowed by shadows.

Tension escalated when a group of rebels, weary of contributing resources, confronted Juko Obisan, the village founder. In a shocking revelation, Juko confirmed that sacrifices were necessary to maintain the village's security. In times of scarce harvests, even members of his own family, including babies, were sacrificed to appease the hidden forces beyond the Fog Passage.

Disgust spread rapidly through the village, leading to the arrest of Juko and his family. The following year, the inhabitants refused to perform the sacrifices, defying tradition. Surprisingly, no monster attacks occurred, and the population began to doubt Juko's words.

In an act of revolt, Juko was hanged in a public spectacle in the village center. His severed head was impaled and displayed at the entrance of the Fog Passage as a warning to anyone daring to question the Obisans' practices.

Now, the village is divided between those who believe the brutal tradition was necessary for survival and those who see Juko's execution as an act of liberation. While the passage remains shrouded in mystery and fog, the fate of the village of Obisan hangs in the balance of uncertainty, between the light of truth and the shadows of the past.
